Pablo Pires De Almeida

Pablo enter his sixth year as head coach of the USF men’s tennis program in 2016-17 after serving as associate head coach to Peter Bartlett for two seasons.

He mentored Bernardo Saraiva to first team All-West Coast Conference singles honors, as he was named the 2014-15 ITA Regional Player to Watch.
Guided seniors Nils Skajaa and Vasco Valverde to a doubles tile at the ITA Northwest Regional, the second year in a row the Dons have won the event.

With the victory, Skajaa and Valverde qualified for the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, held at the prestigious Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.

In the 2015-16 season, the Dons achieved high academic success named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s All-Academic team. Along with he All-Academic team honors, five members were also listed on the ITA All-Academic Scholar’s list.

A former standout on the Hilltop from 2000-05, was a three-time All-West Coast Conference selection in singles and doubles, earning first team singles honors as a senior. He climbed to as high has No. 81 in the Division 1 singles’ rankings and No. 70 in doubles. In 2004, Pablo became USF’s first recipient of the prestigious ITA/Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award.
