Cole Stevenson will begin his first season as head coach of the tennis program in 2019-20.

Stevenson was the men’s tennis coach in 2013-14, and took over the women’s team in the 2015-16 season. In his third season in 2015-16, Stevenson led the Spartans to their first conference championship in program history. Missouri Baptist qualified for the NAIA National Championships for the first time in school history, after setting a program record with 11 wins.

Stevenson placed four players on the all-conference teams, tallied three NAIA Scholar Athletes, and led the squad to the second-straight NAIA Scholar Team Award. In 2018, Stevenson was named AMC Coach of the Year as the women’s head coach. The Spartans went 14-4 and finished second in the conference.

The Callahan, Fla. native transferred to Missouri Baptist as a junior, after spending his first two years at Southeastern University. Stevenson played two years of baseball at Southeastern University, before closing out his collegiate career played two years of tennis at Missouri Baptist. Stevenson holds a degree in sports management and a master’s in business administration.
